Activision announced the date on the official Call of Duty X account on October 14\. The new MW4 version of Warzone arrives the same day. Activision hasn't posted a start time yet. Here's what's confirmed, what's only been reported, and what we're still waiting on. The start time isn't. Some outlets are guessing late morning Pacific based on past Call of Duty seasons, but they don't agree on the hour, and Activision hasn't confirmed anything. We'll add the official time for PT, CT and ET as soon as it's posted. ## The new Warzone Activision's launch patch notes say plainly: "The new version of Warzone will not be available until the launch of Season 1." That puts the MW4 integration on November 6. **Confirmed by Call of Duty:** Season 1 adds an Operator Skin Toggle. It's off by default. When you turn it on, other players appear as Modern Warfare 4 Operators on your screen. It only changes what you see. Operators, skins and weapon Blueprints from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 carry over. Legacy weapons get their own Legacy tab in the loadout menu. Legacy weapon camos do not carry over. **Reported, citing Infinity Ward's The Ward Room series:** Dot Esports, Dexerto and Insider Gaming report these changes: - A new Battle Royale map called Hajin, set in the same Korean Peninsula exclusion zone as DMZ. - A new Resurgence map called Zodiac. - Verdansk and Rebirth Island stay in rotation. - Tactical Sprint returns without a perk, with a shorter duration. - New gear, including a Zipline Launcher and a Grabber Drone. Treat these as reported until Activision's Season 1 blog lays them out. ## What happens to current Warzone Until November 6, Warzone is still the current live game. MW4's launch patch notes say you can choose to install Warzone alongside Modern Warfare 4, but "selecting Warzone before then will install the current live version of the game." Weapon camo progress from MW4 carries into Warzone once Season 1 starts. Windows Central and Dexerto also report that PS4 and Xbox One won't get the MW4 version of Warzone. ## Battle pass and BlackCell Call of Duty's editions page says Vault Edition BlackCell access "begins with Season 1." It includes the full battle pass (100+ rewards), 20 Tier Skips and 1,100 COD Points. These unlock "upon availability of the Season 1 Battle Pass in-game." The only official price on that page is the $30 Vault Edition upgrade. Activision hasn't listed a standalone battle pass or BlackCell price for MW4 yet. One more thing to know: the launch patch notes say Weekly Challenges won't be available in Season 1. ## New multiplayer maps and Shipment MW4 launched with 12 core 6v6 maps, three Ground War maps, four Gunfight maps and the modular Kill Block. Shipment is confirmed as a post-launch map arriving October 27, ahead of Season 1\. Activision also says Kill Block will get 6v6 support and new Slabs after launch. No Season 1 maps have been named yet. ## New modes Call of Duty has confirmed two Halloween party modes "in the leadup to Season 1": the new Possession mode and the returning Infected. Both arrive the week after launch. Season 1 modes haven't been revealed. ## DMZ updates Activision hasn't announced any Season 1 changes for DMZ. Its DMZ deep dive only says more intel is coming "in the weeks and months ahead." What's confirmed is that MW4's launch weapons come to Warzone with Season 1, and Raven Software will keep balancing weapons every two weeks. ## Ranked Play Activision hasn't said when Ranked Play arrives in MW4\. Its launch maps-and-modes post and launch patch notes don't mention it. ## File size and patch size The Season 1 download size hasn't been published.
