Phantom Blade Zero comes out on **Thursday, October 29, 2026**, on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store). According to the PlayStation Store listing, the PS5 version unlocks at **2:00 AM GMT on October 29**. In the US that's **7:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM ET on Wednesday, October 28**, so players in the Americas get it the night before. There's no Xbox version at launch.

If you saw October 28 somewhere (including in our earlier coverage), that's the same launch in a US time zone. Officially it's October 29\. Players in the Americas just reach that moment on Wednesday evening.

## Release date and unlock times

S-GAME moved the game from September 9 to October 29, 2026, to upgrade character models and rework environments. The PS5 unlock is 02:00 UTC on October 29\. Here's what that is locally:

- **Mountain (MT):** 8:00 PM, Wed Oct 28
- **Central (CT):** 9:00 PM, Wed Oct 28
- **Eastern (ET):** 10:00 PM, Wed Oct 28

- **UK (GMT):** 2:00 AM, Thu Oct 29
- **Central Europe (CET):** 3:00 AM, Thu Oct 29

The UK and Europe change their clocks on October 25, which is why these times use GMT and CET. On PC, Steam and Epic list the date, but S-GAME hasn't confirmed a PC unlock time. It will probably match the PS5 time, but check your store page on launch night.

## Platforms, price and editions

You can get it on PS5, Steam or the Epic Games Store. There are two editions:

- **Standard Edition ($59.99):** the base game.
- **Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99):** the game, plus the Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits (Deluxe only), a digital artbook and the soundtrack.

Neither edition gets early access. The PS5 version is digital only for now. No worldwide physical disc has been announced. ## Pre-order bonuses

Pre-ordering either edition unlocks two items early: the **Treasure Basin** accessory (+10% Remnant Dust drop rate) and the **Legacy** outfit. Both can also be earned by playing, so you don't lose anything by skipping the pre-order.

## Preload and download size

S-GAME hasn't announced an official preload date. The PlayStation Game Size account, which tracks PlayStation Network data, reports that PS5 preloading starts **October 27** and that the download is **134.857 GB**. Treat both as likely but unconfirmed. No PC install size has been published yet, and the official specs just say "SSD required."

S-GAME's official specs (all targets assume upscaling is on):

For extra features, ray tracing at 1080p/60 calls for an **RTX 5060 8GB**, and path tracing at 4K/60 calls for an **RTX 5080 16GB**. Valve hasn't given the game a Steam Deck rating yet.

## Is Phantom Blade Zero on Xbox?

Not at launch. The release trailer says the game won't be on other consoles until at least 12 months after release. No Xbox version or Game Pass deal has been announced, so October 2027 is the earliest you could see one.

## Demo

There's no public demo. A PS5 demo leaked in August, but it didn't show up at the State of Play, and none has come out since.

## What kind of game is it?

It's a fast, sword-focused action game set in a dark kung fu world. The combat leans on acrobatics and 1990s kung fu films, and the action choreography is supervised by Kenji Tanigaki. There are four difficulty levels, and dying in a boss's second phase restarts you in that phase rather than at the beginning of the fight. S-GAME hasn't given an official length in English. Reports based on Chinese-language interviews put the main story at 20 to 30 hours, with about 20 more hours of side content.

## Before launch night

- **Clear space now:** plan for 135+ GB on PS5\. On PC, use an SSD and leave the same amount of room to be safe.
- **Turn on auto-download** on PS5 so the preload starts without you, and set Steam to download overnight.
- **Update your GPU drivers** before the 28th, not at 10 PM on launch night.
- **Check your local unlock time** above. On the US East Coast, a 10 PM start on a work night means deciding now how late you'll play.
