Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 Patch Notes: Dual Wielding, Mods & More
Cyberpunk 2077's free Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5) is live: new quests, pistol dual wielding, console mods and DLSS 4.5. Switch 2 gets it in days.
Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 is out now. CD Projekt Red's free "Edgerunners 2 Update" landed Thursday, October 22, on PC, Mac (Steam, GOG, Epic), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version following "in the coming days." Version number is 2.500.100. It's the biggest content drop the game has seen in a while: two new side quests, pistol dual wielding, cyberware you can restyle, and official mod support on consoles.
Update 2.5 release date, platforms and price
- Out now (October 22): PC and Mac on Steam, GOG and Epic; PS5 and PS5 Pro; Xbox Series X|S.
- Coming later: Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store version, "in the coming days," per CD Projekt Red. No exact date yet.
- Price: free for everyone who owns the game. You don't need Phantom Liberty.
- Version: 2.500.100.
What's new in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5
- New quest "Clampdown": set before the events of Edgerunners 2. Unlocks after The Heist plus two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message. Rewards a five-piece King gear set.
- New quest "Welcome to Paradise": a guided Night City tour narrated by Richard Night, with a mystery underneath. Needs The Heist done and Street Cred 15.
- Dual wielding: the new Double Trouble perk in the Cool tree (plus four supporting perks) lets you dual-wield Power pistols and revolvers. No shotguns or rifles.
- Cyberware styling: Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire and the Projectile Launch System can be restyled at five new Glamdocs shops.
- Mods on console: cross-platform mod support through mod.io, browsed from the in-game menu. Modded saves get flagged, and console achievements and trophies are disabled on them.
- More: a new radio station (HKGN 102.0 FM) with Edgerunners music, five new outfit sets, 12 Minor Arcana Tarot cards that extend Fool on the Hill, and a field-of-view slider on consoles.

PC tech changes and bug fixes
- DLSS 4.5 with up to 6X Multi Frame Generation and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation on supported Nvidia cards.
- FSR 3 upscaling removed. FSR 2.1, FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation stay, and there's a new FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle.
- Performance work on ray tracing and PS5 Pro, plus improved HDR.
- Fixes: the Switch 2 "insufficient space" save error, PS5 HDR settings doing nothing, the Delamain cab getting stuck after a crash and blocking quests, and Film Grain having no effect.
Heads up for PC modders: CD Projekt Red warns that piling on lots of mods at once can destabilize the game. If 2.5 starts crashing, disable mods first, since older script mods often break after a big patch.
The 2nd Shift take
Six years after a launch most studios would have buried, CDPR is still shipping free updates that change how the game plays. Dual pistols alone is a new build to try, and console mods through mod.io is a bigger deal than it sounds: PlayStation and Xbox players finally get a slice of what PC has had for years. The Switch 2 crowd waiting a few extra days stings, but at least they got the save bug fix. If you shelved Cyberpunk after Phantom Liberty, tonight is a good night to dust off V.
Running a dual-pistol build already? Show it off in the 2nd Shift Discord.
